Meet The Street Day – May 2012
Meet The Street Day 2012
Well this our third year of this initiative so looking forward to everyone getting on board again. People have asked us since we started this what our “motive” for doing this is.
Our motive is for people to have a conversation with the people around them, notably the people on their street, and get to know them just a little bit better. The world is a big, tough place and if we can get people to communicate just a little bit more, get people to help each other just a little bit more, and laugh together a little bit more the world becomes a better place.
So download the invitation, fill in the details, copy it 15-20 times and drop it in the letterboxes of the people on your street so you can get together for an hour or so on Sunday 27th May. Go for it, it will be good for you!
Let us know how you go.
So What is Meet The Street Day?
Remember when you used to know your neighbours and the streets were friendly? Remember when neighbours looked out for each other? Remember when you used to talk with people on your street? You knew people so that you could wave at them as you walked or drove past and it made you feel good and put a smile on your face. Now very few have the time to get to know the people on the same street. People are busy and stressed. No time. You may have thought about it but it all just seems too hard.
Meet The Street Day is designed for one thing – to provide a common day everywhere where people on their street set aside a couple of hours, get together to meet, greet and connect to build understanding, tolerance and community, and provide some tools and suggestions to make it easier to happen.
Download the invitation form here, fill it in, print off as many copies as you need and put it in the letter box of the people on your street.
Turn strangers into friends!
